Something must have changed between my set and the previous reviewer’s set. Everything was nice in mine, except the veil. The zills are very pretty and make a nice chiming sound when tapped together. However, there was no directions on how to string them on the elastic that’s included. I had to look online to learn the best way was to sew the edges of the elastic together, since knots can alter the sound of the zills. Also, the dance tape didn’t go into how the zills are used, which leads me to wonder if I have to move on to a Dolphina tape just to learn.
The veil was rather cheaply made, all things considered. It’s made of what looks to be the same fabric as the hip scarf in the “other” set. However, I don’t see it as having any sort of wave “edgeing” or frill. It’s just a cheap piece of gauzy polyester mesh, cut into a sort of large triangular shape. It *does* flow nicely. I felt the hip scarf and music CD were a much better value in the previous set. But, the zills and video are so nice that I think the whole set is worth the price.
That said, I really enjoyed this tape. I also own the first dance tape, and all their exercise routines (on DVD). I guess that pretty much proves I’m a Neena and Veena fangirl, but, I enjoyed going through this dance much more than the first tape. It was slower paced and therefore easier for me to follow and keep up with. I don’t move/dance “quickly”, and so fast-paced routines are a big challenge for me. This one was nice and slow, which given the “mystical” title, made sense to me.
All in all, I enjoyed the instructions, and I would recommend buying this if you want a starter set of “stuff” to dance with. But, if you’re looking for a “pretty” veil, instead of one that’s just “functional”, I would consider looking elsewhere.

I have in my collection two beginners bellydance instructional tapes. Neither of them were of good quality nor good instruction. I bought this gift set and also the basic moves gift set because it just came out cheaper that way, and I would get all of the starter equipment I needed. I have to say it was great in my opinion. Slow paced for the true beginner. They gave you a chance to actually comprehend. I also thought that since it was a gift set that the quality of the other items would be cheap and basically garbage. I was wrong. The veil and the zills were great! The zills were even engraved. The veil is very pretty with a wave frill on the edge making it look elegant. It will definately see you through until you want to get your professional dance attire, if you go that far. I was really pleased with this. The same goes for the Basic Dance Gift set. What I wanted was to actually get the Sensual Art 3 video set, but buying the two gift sets and then the third single video came out way better for me. If you buy this you won’t regret it.
